Mission of the Knoxville Adventure Collective

The Knoxville Adventure Collective aims to be a responsible and creative leader in the Knoxville tourism and outdoor industry. We do this by designing and operating innovative, sustainable tours that resoundingly demonstrate the positive impacts of an active outdoor lifestyle.  We provide quality equipment and instruction to ensure clients safely enjoy East Tennessee waterways.  Our goal is to create a laid-back professional environment for which the community can embark upon adventure.
VALUES:
LOVE It is the passion and joy that charge our epic human experience- the ability to forgive, be compassionate and take care of each other
GIVE Giving is receiving.  Give to our neighbors, ourselves and the natural world.
COMMIT Be all in. Commitment is energy that spreads. Dedication to a vision, a vibration, a practice or an act of with intention is how we find success.  Follow through is the key to a better version of ourselves.  Nothing hallway.
GROW We strive to be better every day.  Growth requires openness without fear or defensiveness.  Like all good things in life, this commitment takes work and can be uncomfortable, but we welcome it with the promise of better things.

Jon Terry, owner, Knoxville Adventure Collective

About the Owner

Jon graduated from the Recreation Management Department at Appalachian State University.   After many travels and adventures, Jon landed at Eagle View Ranch in Wyoming with SOAR. He took on numerous hats and titles for SOAR throughout the years with both the summer camp program, supporting Outdoor Classrooms around the country and supporting Academy at SOAR. Landing for a large portion of his career at their North Carolina basecamp, he began raising his two small children in the wonderful wilderness of Western North Carolina.  He relocated to East Tennessee and was an adventure guide for Blackberry Farms exploring the area while providing intimate personalized wilderness experiences for a short time before spearheading the creation of the collective.  He is passionate about sharing his knowledge and love of the outdoors with people of all backgrounds and ages. His main love in life other than his children, Jonah and Caroline, is being on the water, in any form that takes. He is grateful for the chance to work with the Knoxville community to get people outdoors and teach skills that will enable them to enjoy the benefits of nature.

The Knoxville Adventure Collective is a culmination of 20 years of leading outdoor experiences and Jon is excited to bring his brand of curated trips for all those coming to the downtown area.

Jon is a certified Wilderness First Responder with NOLS  and ACA, L4, Swiftwater Rescue.
